The Democrats have chosen to hold their 2008 convention in Denver. This, in the opinion of the illustrious editors of Bachmannalia, is an incredibly wise move. The West is a key area for the Democrats to make inroads. Why? (1) Immigrants – The larger and larger Latino populations in the West need to be listened to. (2) Libertarians – Western Republicanism tends to be more libertarian – with the actions of Bush and his religious allies often flying directly in the face of civil liberties it is time for the Democrats to rally this constituency. (3) New York – The other major competitor, which the Dems will win anyway, and would only further the image of an elitist party.
