My dad, my wife, and I went to The Diamond last Sunday to catch a Richmond Braves game. Why you ask? Do I care about the fortunes of the R-Braves? No. But they were playing the Buffalo Bisons, the AAA affiliate of the Cleveland Indians.
I got a couple autographs (see the photo) and saw some good plays. Andy Marte seems to be the real deal and Franklin Gutierrez hit really well. Ryan Garko was pretty good at 1B, but he still looks like a catcher.
Anyway, it was really fun and I hope to see a few of those players in Cleveland soon!
What does one do with Marte? He’s too good to play behind Chipper (though Chipper is on the DL enough to justify keeping Marte) – do the Bravos trade him to deepen their pitching prospects?
