This week is Spirit Week at my school.  As a teacher, I am trying to get into it as much as possible, though I never did when I was a student.

Today is a perfect day for me.  It’s Preppy Day.  Over the course of the past 5 years, my wife and friends have transformed me from a free T-shirt and khakis wearing bum into a prep-tastic frat-looking guy, despite my nerdiness and non-frattyness and liberal politics.  I like to say I’m getting the conservatives from the inside.

Anyway, I am dressed freakin’ awesome today.  Lilly Pulitzer pants – “Fried Catfish” pattern.  Two popped-collar polo shirts.  Sport coat.  Flip flops.  Pink belt.  Layering T-shirt.  Sunglasses on my head.  Basically Savannah/steeplechase/mint julep perfection.
