I don’t know about you all, but I judge people instantly upon their driving behavior. Not people I ride with, but other people on the road. Do I ever really meet them? No. But if I ever see them again I will know everything about them – everything I care to know anyway.
For instance, anyone who rides in a lane that is ending, particularly one that has signs indicating what will be happening, is a jerk. They sit there and wait at the end, forcing the main flow to slow down while they get in. It’s just them being selfish rather than looking out for the community (ie the community of drivers on the road at that moment).
And that’s just something I can’t stand. I think it says alot about a person how they act in traffic. I for one am conciliatory and look out for other drivers, but I also have an angry streak. Road rage? Occasionally. But I’m respectful of other drivers until they do something to make me angry.
This post is dumb.
Disrespectful driving is far less of a problem than DANGEROUS driving. And road rage is definitely dangerous.

Thanks for the advice. I’ll remind you of that next time I wake up because we had to slam on the brakes due to your tailgating.
Oh married life is pure bliss…

Amen to that. I like to think of myself as a laid-back kind of person, but get me behind the wheel in this town and I turn into a monster. I take a certain bit of pleasure in making sure the person that’s trying to merge in front of me doesn’t get to. Road rage? Maybe. Schadenfreude? Most certainly.
