UVa’s new basketball coach is awesome. He doesn’t take any crap. UVa was up by 25 points in the last 3 minutes of a game and Coach Leitao got himself a technical because he ran on the court shouting at his players for not hustling. That is coaching.
Watch for this talented recruiter and great trainer to put together a fine program at UVa. Will it become Duke/UNC/Kansas/Kentucky? Probably not. But I get the feeling that he is putting together something good.

gotta love the man. Big win over BC tonight, only team other than Duke to beat them in their last 11 games, which is the exact ranking they were in the polls until tonight. More importantly, UVa is above .500 in the ACC, and this late in the season that is something that hasn’t been seen here in Wahooland for a while. So I say keep it up Leitao. He could turn this school into Duke…Krzyzewski has kind of built their dynasty himself, Dean Smith built it himself at UNC, it could happen. Then get SS to come back as a coach to take over the legacy ala Roy Williams.

Well, pushing for a Duke or UNC status is a pretty tall order. But I think he (a) will seriously revive this program and give it some status nationally and (b) create a legacy of winning that will attract recruits and put UVa in a position to compete year after year. Those other schools have a bit of a head start. But as my bro said, who knows???
